You’re taking on a lot, Mom — adjusting to your ever-changing body, modifying your routines, and giving it your very best, day after day, for your baby. As you face this period of change, it’s important to remember that all of your thoughts and feelings matter.
There is no certain way you “should” be feeling right now. While it’s difficult, there’s no shame in reaching out for help. In fact, it’s the strongest and most courageous thing you can do for yourself and your child.
AHN Saint Vincent is here to support you throughout your pregnancy — the perinatal period — and well after you deliver your child — known as postpartum. We offer comprehensive, ongoing behavioral health services to help keep you at your very best.
Of course you may be tired, irritable, or feeling more emotional throughout your pregnancy or shortly after. Sometimes it’s what’s known as the “baby blues,” a short period of sadness after delivering a child that usually goes away in a few days. But other times, these feelings can grow stronger and become overwhelming.
If that’s the case, depending on the stage of your pregnancy, you may be experiencing perinatal or postpartum depression. Symptoms may include:

If you’re feeling one or more of these symptoms, call AHN Women’s Behavioral Health at Saint Vincent at (814) 452-6558. We are here to help you — with open arms and without judgment.
If you fear you may harm yourself or others, call 911 or 1-800-SUICIDE 1-800-784-2433.
